Large Tree Removal
Cottonwoods, oaks, and old-growth trees pushing 100 feet and beyond. We take them down in controlled sections with the crane, so nothing free-falls and nothing gets left to chance.
Overland Park · Serving the entire KC metro
Our 100-foot remote-controlled grapple-saw crane lifts big, hazardous, and storm-damaged trees out in controlled sections — over your roof, fence, and power lines instead of onto them.
The Method
Most tree jobs go wrong at the moment something falls. We built our whole process around never letting that happen — the machine holds the weight, the crew stays on the ground.
We walk the site, look at the tree's lean, decay, and what's underneath it, then map every lift before a saw ever runs.
We set the 100-ft grapple-saw crane where it can reach the tree cleanly and rig each section so it's held before it's cut.
The crane grabs and cuts each piece, then lifts it out over the house, fence, or lines to a clear drop zone. Nothing falls uncontrolled.
We grind the stump, haul the wood, and clear the debris — right down to blowing the leaves off your roof and gutters before we go.
The Machine
It grabs a section, cuts it, and holds it — then swings it clear of everything below before it ever touches down. That means fewer climbers up a failing tree, no logs dropped into a tight yard, and trees up to 120 feet handled right next to houses, driveways, and utility lines.

What We Do

Cottonwoods, oaks, and old-growth trees pushing 100 feet and beyond. We take them down in controlled sections with the crane, so nothing free-falls and nothing gets left to chance.

Split trunks, hung limbs, and trees on structures after a storm. We can secure a hazard fast and come back to finish the removal — with the crane doing the heavy, dangerous lifts.

Trees hemmed in by houses, fences, and power lines. The crane reaches over obstacles and lifts each section straight out, so we protect what's below instead of dropping onto it.
What Neighbors Say
Jeff Hoge of Iron Giant has been amazing to work with. He coordinated the removal of a 90+ foot, much-beloved cottonwood tree that had been struck by lightning and was showing signs of decay. It was fun to watch the way Jeff controlled the crane with great skill. He worked quickly and carefully, and I never worried about the safety of my property or the crew. His pricing was very reasonable and I would absolutely hire him again.
Jeff absolutely saved our house! Our 85+ year old tree started cracking down the middle after a storm. The way the tree was splitting, it would have taken out at least our house and possibly two others. Jeff came over during the weekend to consult and secured it until he could get out a couple days later. By the end of the week they'd ground down the stump and not a single branch or leaf was left on the property.
Jeff and his crew did an absolutely outstanding job removing a huge 100' cottonwood tree located in my backyard surrounded by fences and powerlines. I would absolutely recommend Iron Giant for any tree removal project!!
Iron Giant and Jeff Hoge do amazing work. Had two big trees on my property that needed to be cut down and Jeff and his team got it all taken care of. They did a phenomenal job with the cleanup after the removal — even made sure to blow the leaves off my roof and gutters. If you've got a big tree project I highly recommend Iron Giant.
Iron Giant removed 2 trees and stumps from our yard, and it couldn't have been a better experience. The price was fair, and Jeff communicated with us quickly, professionally and thoroughly. He arrived as scheduled, cleaned up afterward and connected us with a good contact for a separate trimming project.
